By installing PageLock on your store, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, uninstall the app.
PageLock is an app that lets merchants password-protect individual storefront URLs and issue tokenized bypass links. The full feature set is described on the App Store listing and in the in-app docs.
PageLock is a friction tool, not a hardened security product. Don’t use it as the sole control protecting truly sensitive data (payment information, medical records, etc.). The lock can be bypassed by a determined attacker who can inspect HTML or intercept network traffic.
You may not use PageLock to hide illegal content, to defraud customers (e.g. deceptively showing different prices to different visitors), or to reverse-engineer the app beyond what is exposed in the storefront JavaScript.
PageLock is provided on a best-effort basis and does not include an uptime SLA. It depends on Shopify’s storefront infrastructure and our hosting and database providers.
For a URL in the storefront’s last-synced lock manifest, PageLock applies an immediate cover before checking the backend. If that check is unavailable, the URL remains covered with the backup password prompt. URLs outside that manifest remain available. This directional fallback reduces accidental exposure and store-wide outages, but it does not make PageLock encryption or guarantee availability.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS CAPPED AT THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS.
We are not liable for revenue lost due to incorrectly configured locks, content leaked via Shopify-controlled surfaces (sitemap, storefront search, CDN-hosted images), or any consequential or indirect damages.
Either side can terminate at any time. We may suspend the app for any shop that violates these terms. You may uninstall at any time from the Shopify admin.
If we change these terms materially, we’ll notify installed merchants via the embedded admin and update the date above.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the app operator (8th Origin LLC) is incorporated, with disputes resolved in that jurisdiction’s courts.
